Why self-defence belongs in every class
What you will learn
Whether you want to feel safer walking home, handle challenging situations at school or work, or simply feel more confident in your daily life, our classes provide practical tools that apply both on and off the mats.
Technique, not strength
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was developed so that a smaller person can defend against a larger attacker. Every technique we teach works regardless of your size, age, or fitness level.
Real-life scenarios
Our curriculum covers the situations that actually happen: grabs, pushes, holds, and ground confrontations. You practise what works, not what looks good in a demo.

The greatest benefit is mental. Students consistently report feeling calmer, more assertive, and more in control in everyday situations long before they ever need to use what they have learned.

GB1 Adults
Self-defence is woven through every GB1 Fundamentals class. From your first session, you learn awareness, control, and practical escapes alongside core Jiu-Jitsu technique.
